Used before the main substrate, usually our IN 1 Intensive, especially if the build-up is over 500mm depth, with a zero to low organic content its ideal and provides added moisture storage and reduce the rate of water run-off.

The Lightweight Subsoil Substrate contains little or no organic matter, principally a mixture of sand with over 50% of its particles ranging in size from 0.25mm to 0.5mm and LECA (Light Expanded Clay Aggregate) to add bulk but to reduce the overall Bulk Density.
